Classes >> Swallow Class
Welcome to Swallow Class!
Miss Ash is the teacher Monday to Thursday and Mrs Grigg will teach on a Friday. We have a wonderful teaching assistant, Mrs Hughes who will be supporting the children with their learning this year. Mrs Hughes will also be our midday meals supervisor.
We have three wonderful topics in year 3! Our first topic is ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ where we’ll be exploring the rainforests. There will be lots of science looking at the habitats, plants and animals, as well as the Geography which looks at where rainforests are in the world and why they’re there. In the Spring term, our topic is Mighty Mountains and Raging Rivers so get your geologist hats ready study how these natural features are formed and where we can find them. Our summer term topic is ‘Digging Up the Past’ where we work our way along the time line of history from the Stone Age, to the Bronze Age, into the Iron Age and finishing with the Romans in Britain. We great have trips and inspiring visitors planned to make our learning really come alive! We are passionate about working outdoors when possible, and we love to be active with great PE lessons and of course, the Daily Mile.
In Swallow class, we want each child to take responsibility for their learning and to work together as a TEAM to explore our new learning and apply ALL our skills in exciting opportunities throughout the curriculum.
