Welcome to Kingfisher Class!
Mrs Finlay is the teacher of Kingfisher Class. Joining us will be the lovely Mrs Hughs as our teaching assistant. Mrs Hughs will support you with your learning and supervise playtimes. She will also be our midday meals supervisor.
In Year 3, we have three wonderful topics! Our first topic is ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ where we’ll be exploring the rainforests. There will be lots of Science looking at the habitats, plants and animals, as well as the Geography which looks at where rainforests are in the world and why they’re there. In the Spring term, our topic is Mighty Mountains and Raging Rivers so get your geologist hats ready study how these natural features are formed and where we can find them. Our Summer term topic is ‘Digging Up the Past’ where we work our way along the time line of history from the Stone Age, to the Bronze Age, into the Iron Age and finishing with the Romans in Britain. We great have trips and inspiring visitors planned to make our learning really come alive! We are passionate about working outdoors when possible, and we love to be active with great PE lessons and of course, the Daily Mile.
In Kingfisher class, we expect everyone to work as a Team by taking responsibility for their own learning and behaviour. We expect you to always try your best, to explore new learning and to use the amazing skills you have learnt in all the exciting learning opportunities you will have during your time in Year 3!
